Docking Station Won’t Connect To Laptop

  1. First, check if your docking station is compatible with your laptop.
  2. Also, if the AC power adapter that you are using is compatible with the docking station.
  3. Using anincompatible AC power adapter might damage the docking station.
  4. If you use a cable to connect the docking station to the laptop,  disconnect the cable and reconnect it after a few seconds.
  5. If the cable is damaged, try to use a new one for the connection establishment.
  6. If needed, disconnect the docking station from the laptop.
  7. Shut down the laptop.
  8. Leave it for a few seconds and connect the docking station to the laptop again.
  9. Turn on the laptop and check if the docking station won’t connect to laptop problem has been resolved.
  10. If the docking station that you have tried to connect it to the laptop is not recognized, perform the steps given below.
  11. Try to performa two-button reset on the docking station.
  12. On your Windows laptop, select the Control Panel option from the Start menu and choose the Large Icons option from the View By drop-down menu.
  1. Select the Troubleshooting option and click the View All tab on the left panel.
  2. Choose the Hardware and Devices option from the Troubleshooter computer problems list and click the Next option to continue.
  3. This will resolve the problem. If not, uninstall the drivers for the USB host controller by performing the simple steps.
  4. After right-clicking the Start icon, choose the Device Manager option and click the right arrow icon next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
  5. Right-click the device under Universal Serial Bus Controllers and choose the Uninstall option.
  6. Do the previous step again to uninstall the rest of the devices under Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
  7. After you restart the Windows laptop, the uninstalled drivers will be installed automatically.
  8. Also, you can update the graphics card drivers on the Windows laptop and check if the issue has been resolved.
