Solution-1: Restart the system

  1. One simple way is to restart the computer. Before that, check the system space left out and make sure at least 200 MB is available.
  2. Next, restart the system and log in to the profile.
  3. Once you are logged in, check if you are receiving the same error.
  4. In case the error reappears, then restart the system once again and log in to some other account.

Solution-2: Restore the temporary profile

  1. First, you need to find the Security Identifier (SID) of the temporary profile to restore it.
  2. Search for ‘cmd’ using the search bar on the desktop and open the top Command Prompt window.
  3. Once the Command Prompt window opens up, input the below command line if you are using some other account — not your current user account — and press Enter.

  5. If you have logged in to the current user account, run the following command.

  7. When the SID appears in the window, note it down or copy it to the clipboard.
  8. Now, press the Win and R keys together to open the Run box on the screen, then type “regedit.exe” and click OK.

  2. There you can find two profiles with the same names, one ends with the extension “.bak,” which is the correct profile, and the other is a temporary profile.
  3. Add ‘_new” as an extension to the temporary profile name and delete “.bak” from the correct profile name.
  4. Restart the computer and see if the error has been withdrawn.
