Mac won't Start

  1. Mac won’t Start,” or “My Mac computer remains turned OFF” — If this is the problem with your Mac computer, then try these solutions to solve it. 
  2. First, make sure that your Mac device has enough charge to turn on.
  3. If your Mac device’s charge is completely drained, then connect it to the power source.
  4. If you are using a desktop computer, then make sure that the power cable is connected securely at the ends.
  5. After connecting the power cable, press the Power button on your Mac computer.
  6. Now, check if your Mac computer is delivering the signs of power such as sound from the fan, hard disk, lights, etc.
  7. If no signs of power can be observed on your Mac computer, then check if the power cable is connected securely.
  8. After that, press the Power button and check if your Mac computer is turning ON.
  9. If not, perform the troubleshooting instructions given below.
  10. Locate and hold down the Power button on your Mac computer for 10 seconds.
  11. After that, release the Power button and then press it again.
  12. Check if your Mac computer is turning ON.
  13. If not, check if any external accessories are connected to your Mac computer.
  14. If yes, unplug the external accessories such as printers, drivers, mobile devices, USB hubs, etc., from your Mac computer.

  1. Press & hold down the Power button of your Mac computer for 10 seconds again.
  2. Press the Power button for one more time.
  3. If the Mac computer still does not turn on, reset System Management Controller Firmware of your PC.
  4. If your Mac computer’s battery is not removable, then locate the Shift, Control, Option, & Power buttons and hold down them all for some seconds.
  5. Now, release all the four buttons at the same time.
  6. Within a few seconds press the Power button again.
  7. If your Mac computer’s battery is removable, then unplug it from the power source.
  8. Remove the battery from your Mac computer.
  9. Now, hold down the Power button for five seconds again.
  10. After five seconds, release the button.
  11. Reinsert the battery into your Mac computer.
  12. Press the Power button.
  13. Check if your Mac computer is turning ON.
