Windows 10 2004 Install Error

Proceed with the steps that are given below to fix the Windows 10 2004 install error.

  1. Go to the Start menu and open the Settings window.
  2. Select the Update & security section and click the Troubleshoot tab.
  3. Now, select the Windows Update section and click on the Run the troubleshooter option.
  4. The program will now detect the Windows update issues.
  5. Wait until the troubleshooting process is completed.
  6. When the results appear, click the Apply this fix option.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to fix the error.
  8. Now, select the Close the troubleshooter option and reboot your computer.
  9. Once the system restarts, check whether the issue has been resolved.
  10. If the issue persists, you can continue with the next step.
  11. Click the Start menu and type cmd in the Search section.
  12. Now, right-click on Command Prompt and select the Run as administrator option from the displayed list.
  13. When prompted for the User Account Control, click the Yes button.
  14. Now, type net stop wuauserv in the Command Prompt window and press the Enter key.
  15. Type net stop cryptsvc and press Enter.

  1. Type net stop bits and hit Enter.
  2. Now, type ren c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old and press the Enter key.
  3. Now, type ren c:\windows\system32\catroot2 catroot2.old and tap Enter.
  4. Type net start wuauserv and hit Enter.
  5. Type net start bits and hit Enter.
  6. Type net start cryptsvc and press Enter.
  7. Now, type exit and hit Enter.
  8. Now restart your computer to verify whether the issue is resolved.
  9. If the Windows 10 2004 install error occurs again, open the Settings window, select the Update & Security section, and click the Recovery tab.
  10. Click the Restart now option under Advanced startup.
  11. Now, select the Troubleshoot option.
  12. Select Advanced options and click Startup Settings.
  13. Click on the Restart button.
  14. Now, press the F4 key and wait until the computer restarts.
  15. Now, you can update your operating system easily.
